Stories are a communal currency of humanity.” |
After a year as a feature producer, Covid-19 hit, and the whole television industry was faced with the challenge of reorganizing itself to fit the new times. When professional sports returned, we had to redefine what was an acceptable piece. Zoom interviews became commonplace, and quality inevitably took a hit. Whatever the obstacle, a good story stands on its own.
Quality will always be a priority to me as a professional, but audiences are more concerned with connecting to the content itself. Not everyone cares for the finer details that make a piece technically impressive, but we all find value and humanity in the lives of others. While video will continue to evolve with changing times, story is as old as language itself and will persist in connecting people, even in times of disconnect. Unequivocally, bringing people together has been the greatest pleasure of my career. Please enjoy a selection of my work below. |
Hanna & PieterSet at golden hour and shot predominantly with an 85mm lens, this shoot embodies class and elegance. Dreamy backgrounds (think Tuscan countryside meets East Coast refinement) were aided by soft, neutral tones and edited out passersby from the heavily trafficked area. Utah's Capitol served as the backdrop for this Americana-inspired shoot with romantic details and tender poses that feel like falling in love.
Every pixel proves that a moment in time can, in fact, capture a timeless love. Explore the extended gallery here |
Joe's Valley FestJoe's Valley Fest is about two things above all: climbing and community. The small town of Castle Dale borders the top bouldering area in Utah, drawing hundreds of people each year to the town of about 1,500. Three days of capturing photos and videos nonstop, editing in the trunk of a CR-V, and fighting off sunburns amount to one of the best weekend-long parties every year. A town previously not on the map, now documented by a team of photographers and videographers gunning for the opportunity to share its stories.

Wild Hair DesignThis silversmith's garage is adorned with old-school posters, unidentified oddities, and semi-precious stones. The peculiar mixture is just a testament to the artist's unique and nostalgic style. Joshua works predominantly with found materials to create stunning one-of-a-kind pieces that evoke the American West. To enter his workshop is to peer behind the curtain and find yourself in another time, a time where mass production and cheap materials have no place in art, a time where the process in which something is made determines its value.
